Hosne Ara Hossain, a poet and literary figure, and also mother of journalist Sumon Mahmud of Bdnews24.com; passed away on Tuesday. She was put on life support on October 13 as suffered a heart attack. Hosne Ara Hossain was born on August 15 in 1950 at Nangalkot in Cumilla. In the 1960s, despite facing various challenges, Hosne Ara Hossain became a prominent figure in her family, writing poetry and short stories focused on the country, society, and nature. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock at the death of Poet Hosne Ara Hossain.
