Play looks at room for faith

Christian writer-director James Tregonning (24) and lead actress Claire Macindoe (23) dissect church culture. Between the proselytising televangelist and the militant atheist, there often seems little room for reasoned critiques of Christian culture. Dunedin writer-director James Tregonning (24) said people generally bolted when the words Christian and theatre were even mentioned together. The play looks at a young girl named Penny, played by Claire Macindoe (23), as she ''tries to figure out what she wants her faith to be'', Tregonning said. Christian will play at The Kitchen Table at 6pm and 8pm from tomorrow until Thursday.
