It has come from the river with which he shares his name. The septuagenarian says his mother named him after Ganga to express her gratitude for being blessed with a boy. "Back then the river used to bring happiness and joy, not like today, when it brings death and destruction," says Sav, his eyes welling up. He intends to stay on to guard whatever little is left of his property.
