Planned Protest Action Awaits Ellen’s Financial Policy Tomorrow -


As the exchange rate between the United Dollar and the Liberian Dollar continues on its ‘4G’ speed with current rate being put at 115Liberian Dollar to 1 United States, Liberian marketers who said the feel the brunt of this situation have resolved to petition the National Legislature tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31, 2017. The marketers under the banner Patriotic Entrepreneurs of Liberia (PATEL) said their action on Tuesday will symbolize to the lawmakers and the Liberian Government that they are being suppressed as a result of this situation. However, authority of the Liberia National Police has pleaded with members of PATEL to see reason and suspend their planned protest in the interest of the Liberian people. Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman begged that the protest be cut off, because according to him said protest has security implication and it can also resolve into instability. But for their part, the leadership of PATEL speaking to reporters said their peaceful planned protest will remain as scheduled.
