A plane has made an emergency landing at Wanaka Airport after trouble with its landing gear and wheels. A Wanaka Airport spokeswoman said the pilot called for help, saying he needed assistance landing. The Piper PA-28-140 Cherokee aircraft, which was inbound from Twizel with a pilot and two passengers on board, landed safely about 12.45pm. Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Andrew Norris said the pilot indicated there was a problem with the aircraft's landing gear and wheels.
