Emergency services are at the scene of a plane crash at Arapohue near Dargaville. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said five fire trucks were on Wainui Rd responding to the plane crash. In January 2018, two people died after a light airplane crash near Dargaville. The light airplane they were travelling in fell from the sky and slammed into a paddock in Te Kopuru, south of Dargaville. Spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority, Blake Crayton-Brown, said the Authority had been notified of the crash and were awaiting further details from emergency services.
