Plane bound for Baltimore forced to turn back to Phoenix just minutes after takeoff

The holiday weekend hopped off on the wrong foot for travelers on American Airlines flight 1100 out of Phoenix on Friday morning. The aircraft was in the air for less than 30 minutes when it was suddenly forced to turn around and land back at Phoenix Sky Harbor after two flight attendants became ill and reported a strange smell in the cabin. 'Phoenix Fire checked out a reported odor on the plane. No ill passengers. 2 flight attendants @AmericanAirlines evaluated as a precaution,' wrote the Phoenix Sky Harbor staff on Twitter.
