However, ahead of the joining national team camp in UAE, Benoun tested positive for Covid-19. Despite that news, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, has insisted Benoun will make the AFCON squad as soon as he recovers. He has also been a stalwart in defence for Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly side.
