Currently, the flour business contributes 68% to the total revenue of the country’s pioneer wheat flour milling company. “Our existing poultry processing plant is running at full capacity,” Teh told The Edge Financial Daily in an interview. Meanwhile, the prospects for the group’s flour business have improved after the government removed the wheat flour subsidy for 25kg bags in March 2016 although the subsidy for 1kg packets remains. Its flour mills in Lumut and Pasir Gudang, Johor, have a total capacity of close to 2,000 tonnes a day. Over in Indonesia, MFM’s 30%-owned associate, PT Bungasari Flour Mills Indonesia, has a capacity of 1,500 tonnes a day.
