Anyone familiar with the 1957 Stanley Donen film Funny Face will remember the rousing number sung by Kay Thompson endorsing pink as the colour du jour. If you have not seen it, then please do: it is a marvel of technicolour gloriousity that will brighten your day. If you were going to bars in the 90s when the Cosmopolitan and the Seabreeze were in vogue you may have (hopefully fond) memories of pink vodka-based drinks. The egg white adds a froth to the whole adventure but doesn't affect the taste in any way so, if the idea of raw egg white freaks you out, you may omit it completely. Pink lady45ml gin25ml apple brandy10ml lemon juice1-2 dashes grenadine1 egg whiteShake all the ingredients vigorously in an ice-filled shaker and strain into a glass.
