DSPs seekin­g promot­ion to underg­o depart­mental scruti­nyRAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Traffic Police has seized some 300 illegal revolving police lights, fancy and Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights in headlights from private vehicles during the last week and fined their owners. The seizures took place in an operation led by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Bin Ashraf for ensuring road safety. Ashraf said that the blinding lights cause problems for other motorists as it distracts them and increases the probability of accidents. He said the usage of revolving police lights was a security risk and was illegal. Scrutiny of DSPsAs many 84 deputy superintendents of police, who are seeking promotion in the next grade, will be undergoing strict scrutiny, whether they were ever involved in any criminal activity.
