The Kenya Airline Pilots Association has called for immediate release of Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) officials who were arrested during a strike on Wednesday morning. Among those in custody are KAWU Secretary General Moses Ndiema and other officials arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport during the strike. He said the aviation workers were exercising their constitutional right in picketing and should not have been arrested. COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has asked the Aviation Workers to keep off work until their officials are released.
