People under the banner of two organizations- Gono Oikyo and Nagorik Porishad- staged the human chain in front of the National Press Club around 11am on Monday. The matter drew widespread criticism after newspaper reports on irregularities in procuring accessories, including pillows, to furnish apartments in RNPP. The human chain protested against such irregularities by holding pillows because according to the reports, the price and carrying cost of pillows were estimated to be abnormally high. Similarly, Tk94,250 for a fridge with Tk12,521 as carrying cost. Tk17,499 was shown for the carrying cost of a wardrobe while Tk10,773 for a bed.
