Conservative lead candidate Pierre Poilievre says he wants to expand Toronto Island Airport’s runway to allow jets to fly in and out of downtown Toronto. Any expansion would have to be self-funded so taxpayers don’t foot the bill, the Poilievre team’s statement added. They claimed it would create 2,000 new jobs, bring in $55 million in tax revenue and take the pressure off Pearson Airport. How good is it for the planet to force people who live downtown to drive to Pearson instead of flying from the island’s airport? https://t.co/w6QSf9PYh5 — Pierre Poilievre (@PierrePoilievre) July 21, 2022The story continues below the ad
