The Redcar Coke Ovens (RCO) Gas Holder was demolished by explosives on Friday (April 28) as developments continue on the Teesworks site. "This is the final explosive demolition taking place in respect of the Redcar Coke Ovens, after the main structure was brought down in June last year. "The 62m tall Gas Holder will be brought down by one controlled explosion. When the steelworks are demolished, earth clearance and ground remediation is set to take place to prepare the land for development.
