Exasperated with the poor attitude of litterbugs, the Ipoh City Council is calling on members of the public to be their eyes and ears by taking pictures of litterbugs in action. Ipoh mayor Datuk Zamri Man (centre, in red and orange) together with staff of the Ipoh City Council during the closing ceremony of the city council’s Public Service Innovation Day town hall on Dec 7. “All photos will be credited as sourced from the city council and we will see to it that these pictures of litterbugs will be printed in national dailies. Relying on the city council alone is not enough because we as responsible members of society should do what we can to address the issue. “I hope with people doing taking pictures, public shame will help improve the behavoiur of the less civic-minded,” he said.
