Three men, on a picnic, drowned in the left canal of Pedderu reservoir in between Kothapalle and Ravipalem area this afternoon, police said. The deceased worked for World Network Service (WNS), a business process management (BPM) firm in Vizag city. They immediately drowned in the canal, said V Madugula police station officials under whose jurisdiction the area falls. Sub-Inspector of V Madugula police station G Umamaheswara Rao said it seems the men failed to gauge the depth of the water which resulted in their drowning. It took around one hour for the police and locals to fish out their bodies from the reservoir.
