MANILA, Philippines — Presumptive Senator Pia Cayetano believes that the questions raised over the educational background of another incoming senator, Imee Marcos, must be resolved, and dealt with sincerely and candidly. While she did enroll in 1973, Princeton reportedly said Marcos did not earn a degree from the university. I’ve been a champion of education and I feel that should be dealt with sincerely as possible,” she said. Asked if she had discussed this issue with Marcos while they were campaigning together, Cayetano answered no. Cayetano and Marcos will join their two other partymates in the Senate— Senator Cynthia Villar, who topped the senatorial race, and Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto.
