Photographer discovers unexpected splendour in abandoned sewage station

Matt Emmett took a trip to Crossness Pumping Station in Abbey Wood, a hidden gem in east London. The Octagon shows the impressive artwork that adorns the former sewage station in east London with colours including red, green and golden. The station recently underwent a £500,000 restoration project to remove asbestos from the buildingBeam engines that operated the old sewage station are pictured in a building with high ceilings and six impressive columns.
