Nutthawat WichieanbutTransport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said on Tuesday public transport fares will remain unchanged during the Songkran holiday. Mr Phiphat also reaffirmed the government's commitment to key infrastructure policies, including the Land Bridge megaproject and a proposed 40-baht flat-rate electric rail fare. Reducing transport costs across all modes -- rail, buses and ferries -- remains the ministry's key objective, with an integrated approach covering land, rail and water systems. The Department of Rail Transport is studying the most suitable model for the proposed 40-baht electric rail fare, including the possibility of a zonal structure. On the Land Bridge project, Mr Phiphat said the government remains committed, describing it as a flagship policy, with studies under successive administrations indicating its economic viability.
