Mr Phiphat also reaffirmed the government's commitment to key infrastructure policies, including the Land Bridge megaproject and a proposed 40-baht flat-rate electric rail fare. Reducing transport costs across all modes -- rail, buses and ferries -- remains the ministry's key objective, with an integrated approach covering land, rail and water systems. The Department of Rail Transport is studying the most suitable model for the proposed 40-baht electric rail fare, including the possibility of a zonal structure. On the Land Bridge project, Mr Phiphat said the government remains committed, describing it as a flagship policy, with studies under successive administrations indicating its economic viability.
