A STRANGE thing happened at the just concluded 31st Asean Summit in Manila. Not a single world leader raised the issue or questioned President Rodrigo Duterte on his controversial “war against drugs” crusade. And Duterte doesn’t let formalities interfere with the way he does things. But make no mistake, the Asean Summit was a huge success for Duterte and the host country. Filipinos are acknowledged as the best in the service industry, and they proved it here in Manila by going out of the way to make their guests feel at home.
