PHINMA Corp. cement unit plans to expand its market presence to the Southeast Asian region following the inauguration of its facility in Mariveles, Bataan. “Looking at the opportunities from the construction business now, we should prepare to expand, not just in the Philippines, but also in the Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region. Our Mariveles facility makes Phinma extremely well placed to take advantage of this growing regional opportunity,” Philcement President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eduardo Sahagun said. In 2018, Phinma came back to the cement business with its “Union Cement” brand amid the government’s aggressive infrastructure program. In September last year, the Del Rosario-led conglomerate inked a $50-million investment deal with Vietnam-based Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Co. to supply cement to Philcement.
