Philadelphia shooting leaves at least 1 dead, 6 wounded as gunfire 'crisis' continues

A shooting in Philadelphia on Thursday night left at least one person dead and six wounded in a city that two years ago declared its gunfire problem a "public health crisis," according to reports. Three more male victims — ages 38, 32 and age unknown -- were all in stable condition at Temple University Hospital, FOX 29 Philadelphia reported. The news is striking considering Mayor Jim Kenney declared rampant gun violence in Philadelphia to be a public health crisis back in 2018. THIS CITY IS APPROACHING LAST YEAR'S HOMICIDE TOTAL AFTER WEEKEND OF VIOLENCE“I have come to realize that the level of violence that we are experiencing is actually a public health crisis. It is not a crisis of crime; it involves crime, but it’s about public health," Kenney said at the time, according to AL DÍA News.
