State-run Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) said more than 2.4 million unbanked Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registrants have already signed up for LandBank transaction accounts as of April 30, 2021. Step 1 Registration is the house-to-house collection of demographic information of the registrants, and appointment setting for the step 2 registration. The PSA earlier partnered with the LandBank to enable registrants to open bank accounts on site after completing step 2 registration. The launch of the online step 1 registration aims to boost the general public’s engagement with PhilSys without compromising health and safety protocols,” said the PSA. The pilot online step 1 registration began on April 30, 2021.
