There is so much going for women’s football in England right now. Win the World Cup, which kicks off in France tonight, and we will have truly arrived. England’s first game in the tournament is against Scotland on Sunday. If the team can go on to win the final on July 7 it will make this easily the biggest year in the history of the English women’s game. Television audiences will be bigger than ever and role models will be plastered over the country like the Team GB athletes were in 2012.
