Excessive use of indigestion treatments, such as antacids or proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), can conceal serious underlying conditions whilst potentially triggering substantial adverse effects. Whilst taking the advised dosage for a short duration is perfectly acceptable, prolonged dependence interferes with natural digestive processes and may lead to reliance.
