Still, the bulk of PewDiePie’s video is less of an apology and more of an offensive launched against the media who he claims are out to get him. The idea that the media is afraid of PewDiePie might be true, but not in the way he thinks. If any media outlets are scared of PewDiePie, it’s networks and cable channels who are worried about losing eyeballs to big YouTubers. Through all this, it is hard not to draw comparisons to another high-profile figure waging a seemingly endless war on the media, Donald Trump. Instead, it’s the media who has become the focus because PewDiePie constantly feels persecuted by them.
