Four people have been displaced and multiple family pets have died after fire broke out at a west Ottawa apartment Sunday morning. They were able to get access to the apartment, where a fire was burning in the living room, Ottawa Fire Services said in a media release. Two men and and two women are now being cared for by the Salvation Army and the Red Cross. One of the victims, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital for non-critical smoke inhalation injuries, the fire service said. A spokesperson said there were cats and dogs living in the house and that at least one cat died in the fire.
