KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (PetChem) has registered a 2.7 per cent decrease in net profit in the third quarter ended September 30, 2016 to RM891 million from RM916 million. In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, PetChem said the decrease in net profit was due to depreciation and amortisation expenses. For the nine-month period, PetChem’s net profit dropped 6.4 per cent to RM1.95 billion from RM2.08 billion. Meanwhile, Petronas Gas Bhd’s (PGB) net profit in the third quarter increased 38.6 per cent year-on-year to RM422.71 million from RM304.98 million. For the nine months, PGB’s net profit decreased 19 per cent to RM1.27 billion from RM1.57 billion.
