Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi paid a surprise visit to the National Natural Gas Grid Control Center (NATA) at GASCO to monitor operations and ensure stable gas supplies to key sectors, particularly electricity and industry. A ministry statement noted the visit is part of ongoing unscheduled field tours to monitor work progress at production and operation sites. Badawi reviewed gas pumping rates and grid efficiency with GASCO Chairman Mohamed Marzouk, thanking the center’s team for their role in securing supplies despite current challenges. The Minister further reviewed operational scenarios for potential variables and the expected increase in consumption during the summer months to maintain high-efficiency supply readiness. He also confirmed the completion of distribution preparations for domestic and commercial gas consumption in anticipation of the seasonal demand surge during Eid al-Fitr.
