Petitioner accuses GBX Logistics of dodging tax in HC petition


In 2014, GBX Logistics earned a “substantial amount of revenue” in commission, in line with the Bangladesh Bank directives, after handling Hapag-Lloyd’s businesses, Khan told bdnews24.com. “But instead of the 37.5 percent corporate tax, the company paid 5 percent tax at source on the revenue. The petition claims GBX paid Tk 8.63 million in tax at source instead of Tk 45.45 million in corporate taxes. It also requests the release of all related documents including, the agreement between Hagap-Lloyd and GBX Logistics. Speaking to bdnews24.com, GBX Logistics Managing Director Ahmed Yusuf Walid declined to comment on the issue before seeing the court documents.
