The vehicle and the offenders are yet to be located after it was stolen by the victim at gunpoint. A person was threatened with a firearm and had their car stolen during an incident in Lower Hutt on New Year’s Day. One person pointed the firearm at the victim near the Wingate Overbridge at about 1.30am, while one of his associates took the victim’s car, the spokeswoman said. On January 3, the man allegedly failed to stop for police in a stolen vehicle and then allegedly fired at an officer in Foxton. On the same day, a woman was arrested in Rotorua after pointing a firearm at police officers.
