Fire investigator Murray Milne-Maresca says the George St house in unhabitable after Sunday night's blaze. The owner of the house was at home alone when the fire started in the bedroom, Milne-Maresca said. He had fallen asleep in front of the television and woke up, disorientated, to find the house full of smoke, he said. The smoke alarms activated and Milne-Maresca said the man immediately got on his hands and knees and crawled to safety. The man was helped by members of the public once he got to the ranch doors at the back of the house.
