EDMONTON—Strips of bright yellow police tape cordoned off the entrance of the Alberta legislature Monday afternoon after a person died by suicide on the building’s front steps. A police spokesperson declined to provide more details, calling it a “non-criminal” incident, but a member of legislature security informed reporters that there had been a suicide. At roughly 3:30 p.m., the body, located two steps from the bottom of the front stairs, was covered by a pink blanket.
