Armed police respond to person shot and critically injured in Great South Rd, Papakura. A person has been critically injured in a shooting on the main street of a south Auckland town, with police investigating whether it is connected to the ongoing gang tensions. A police spokesperson confirmed the person had been taken to hospital after a shooting on Great South Rd, Papakura. Earlier on Friday, police were standing guard outside Stampede Bar and Grill and part of Countdown was cordoned off. Ministry of Justice spokesperson Maeve Neilson said court security officers gave medical assistance to the injured person and called for an ambulance.
