Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said its manufacturing facility, namely Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, was still utilising old equipment that needed upgrading. Aminar added that Perodua will also utilise part of the capex to upgrade and relocate its dealer network. Perodua sold 207,100 vehicles in 2016, a marginal drop from the 213,300 units it sold in 2015. Aminar said Perodua grew its exports volume in 2016 to 4,700 units from 4,400 units in 2015 - with over 60% of exports to Indonesia. On production, Perodua made 213,000 vehicles in 2016 compared with 229,000 vehicles in 2015.
