KANGAR: A civil servant in Perlis has been remanded for five days from Thursday (April 9) to assist in the investigation of a bribery case involving about RM200,000. The bribe is allegedly linked to the acquisition of various medals and awards from an association in 2024. A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) source said the remand order for the 57-year-old man was granted by Kangar Magistrate Nurul Natasha Rizal following an application by the Perlis MACC. "The total number of individuals who paid the suspect to obtain the awards is still under investigation," the source said. Perlis MACC director Mohd Nor Adha Ab Gani confirmed the arrest, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009.
