Perhilitan monitors Klang River after croc sighting - Nation


KLANG: The Selangor Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) is monitoring the Klang River bund to see if a recently sighted saltwater crocodile reappears. Department director Abd Rahim Othman said Perhilitan officers have been conducting regular checks along the river since the reptile was spotted near the Kota Bridge here recently. “We will see if the crocodile makes frequent appearances at certain spots in the river, and whether it poses a danger to the public. The sighting of the approximately 2m-long reptile was captured in a short video clip by passers-by which has since gone viral on social media. Klang Municipal Council (MPK) president Datuk Yasid Bidin said the council is putting up signages warning people to be beware of crocodiles at the river.
