IPOH: The state government today gave its assurance that the investment and economy of the state would not be affected following the closure of the RM520 million Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS). Perak Investment, Industrial and Corridor Development committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said in fact there were local and international companies showing interest to take over the theme park. “I have spoken to two companies, one is a local company while the other company is from China. It was reported that MAPS closed its operations on Jan 28 and would remain closed until further notice. The closure notice was issued by the Receiver and Manager of Animation Theme Park Sdn Bhd (ATP) from Messrs Ernst & Young.
