IPOH: It is not necessary to bring forward a motion proposing that the Perak state government step in to help debt-ridden Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu. "There are already several plans to repair the current situation of MAPS, including free entry into the theme park. He was asked to comment on Keranji assemblyman Chong Zhemin's statement recently that the motion was expected to be tabled on the last day of the Perak state legislative assembly sitting on Tuesday (April 23). Chong, who is also Perak Corporation Berhad (PCB) audit committee chairman, had said MAPS' losses stood at RM474.4mil, and there was a need to rejuvenate the theme park. "So right now the state government has no plans to close down the theme park, as this will cause the state to incur more losses," he added.
