The STEP conference has taken place for five years, but 2018 was the first time a driverless vehicle, namely the Pepsi Smart Cart, was piloting itself around the venue. Hence, my particular experience when the Pepsi Smart Cart went into reverse and I nearly became its victim as I tried to manoeuvre around what I thought was a snazzy food truck. Hyperloop has a big presence in the Emirate and while the city's announcements about flying taxis going mainstream (midair?) very soon seem like pie in the sky, the very latest in transportation does seem to have a home here. So, what of the Pepsi Smart Cart?
