The reigning-champion Blues' goal difference is already five better than that of Jurgen Klopp’s men, and he is urging his side to extend that advantage over the coming weeks. City famously snatched the title from local rivals Manchester United on goal difference in 2012 with Sergio Aguero’s dramatic 94th-minute strike on the final day of the season. Asked if the title race could come down to goal difference, Guardiola said: “Yes. The first message is to win the game and the second one is if you can score, score, and if you can avoid conceding, do. “They have to escape when they get home, but they cannot drop what they have to do - it’s not allowed.”
