A dozen people were shot during an incident early Sunday morning along the waterfront area in Peoria, Illinois, according to officials. The Peoria Police Department said the incident happened around 4:42 a.m. in the area of Northeast Water Street and Hamilton Boulevard, near the city's riverfront. Police spokeswoman Amy Dotson told Heart of Illinois ABC that about 200 people were gathered in the area at the time when shots rang out. The shooting added to an already violent weekend in Peoria, where one person was killed and three others were injured.
