A new study by researchers from Northwestern University has found that people who eat eggs have a ‘significantly higher’ risk of heart disease. An analysis of the results revealed that people who ate 3-4 eggs per week had a 6% higher risk hear disease, and 8% higher risk of death. “We found cholesterol, regardless of the source, was associated with an increased risk of heart disease." The researchers advise that you don’t have to completely banish eggs, but instead to just be wary about how many you eat. Dr Allen added: “We want to remind people there is cholesterol in eggs, specifically yolks, and this has a harmful effect.
