When casting directors are looking for a young heroine, the name of Lily James is rapidly moving to the top of the list. From there she impressed as Natasha Rostova in the BBC’s War & Peace, and last year she played Cinderella in the Disney production directed by Kenneth Branagh. The 27-year-old is best known for playing the rebellious Lady Rose MacClare in Downton Abbey. Now she and Richard Madden, who played the handsome prince, have been reunited by Branagh as lovers in Romeo and Juliet, which opened last week at the Garrick Theatre in London’s West End.
