Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Imthiaz Bakeer Markar today said the people in the North and East Provinces have moved towards separatist ideologies as they have lost faith in mainstream political parties. Addressing a series of public rallies held in the East today, the MP said the citizens of this country shouldn’t allow this practice to continue. “We need to unite the Sri Lankan nation and make the way for the educated and youth leaders to come forward from the East as well. Even within the Muslim community, separatist ideas have been created. We are paying for promoting separatist ideas among and within communities,” he said.
