People Involved in Oromia-Somali Border Conflict Will Face Justice – Ethiopian GovernmentSeptember 26, 2017 - The government of Ethiopia stated that it is working to bring persons responsible for the death and injury of people in boundary dispute between Oromia and Somali regional states to justice. “Our government will bring the persons involved with the alleged activities based on the evidence gathered from the ongoing investigation,” said Negeri Lencho, Ethiopian government Communication minster. Noting that the Ethiopian government has managed to bring the situation under control, Negeri said it has been working closely with community elders and tribal leaders to resolve the problem. Noting that thousands of Ethiopians have been displaced due to the clashes, the Minister said the federal and regional governments are closely working to support victims. Speaking on the preparation for the celebration of Irrecha festival of the Oromo people, Negeri noted that preparations are finalized to peacefully celebrate the day.
