The well-being of any work force is the #1 priority for anyone who runs a company now. Englebert is an early adopter of this people-first vision of leadership. You might think her advocacy for employee well-being, from on high in the C-suite, would be long on rhetoric and short on action. If it’s the right thing to do, it will ultimately be good for the employee and the company. And when she said “pay equity” she touched on the most crucial principle for business now: to pay people a salary or wage that enables that person to flourish, not just survive.
