MadhavanA few weeks ago, those heading into Anna Nagar West Extension experienced a pandemonium resulting from construction work in several sections of the neighbourhood. At present, many streets in Anna Nagar West Extension have stormwater drains on both sides and neatly-laid footpaths. Along with other residents’ welfare associations, including Anna Nagar Western Extension Welfare Association and ‘B’ Sector Residents’ Welfare Association, ANSECWA spearheaded the campaign against the new flood channel. They petitioned officials, passed resolutions at residents’ welfare association meetings, roped in other residents welfare associations and elected representatives and organised joint meetings with civic officials.
