LAHORE: Punjab Accountant General (AG) is facing a shortage of employees due to which corrupt officials at the pension branch seek a bribe from pensioners and those who come with a problem, Pakistan Today has learnt. Those who refuse to pay bribes are made to suffer by raising objections on their applications and are made to come again and again. According to details, two clerks namely Adeel and Saeed at the pension branch of the AG office were involved in corruption of Rs60 million. People working in different government departments have said that they have completed 25 years of service after which they submitted their pension books to the AG office. When contacted, Punjab AG Karamat Bukhari said that he has been transferred therefore he cannot say anything on the matter.
